Dr. Michael Brown is originally from South Ogden, Utah. He studied Science Zoology at Weber State University and later earned a Bachelor of Visual Science and a Doctor of Optometry Degree at Pacific University. Dr. Brown founded Mountain West EyeCare in 1984 to provide patient care all along the Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake County, Weber County and Utah County.. “Helping people with their visual health to improve their overall quality of life is a passion of mine.”
Dr. Brown has been practicing for over 35 years and is active with many organizations such as the American Optometric Association, Utah Optometric Association Member, and Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association.
He has served as Teaching Facility for Optometry Students at the following institutions: Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Brown continually devotes time with humanitarian outreach programs such as Sight for Students, Vision USA, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity.
While not helping patients with their vision correction needs, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with family (married for 44 years, I have five kids (3 boys, 2 girls) and, 10 grandkids), hiking, camping, boating, fishing, biking, and hunting. When time permits, water skiing and basketball are his favorite activities.
Dr. Brown lived in Australia for a couple of years and picked up an Australian accent for a bit.
